Wagler broke the Illini freshman scoring record with 663 points and earned the Jerry West Award for the nation's best shooting guard, Big Ten Freshman of the Year, First Team All Big Ten and a consensus second team All-American. (Champaign-jm) – Parkland College Men’s Basketball Coach John Bowler is leaving the program to become an assistant coach at Eastern Michigan. In his four seasons in Champaign, Bowler led the Cobras to two national championship game appearances, a runner up finish in 2025 and winning the national title this year. Bowler played four seasons at Eastern Michigan scoring over 14 hundred points.
